TEACHING ASSISTANTS REQUIRED

We are looking to appoint 4 enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our team and support a number of children with their individual needs.

There are currently two 15 hour posts to support children in Key Stage 1 and two 25 hour posts to support children with an Educational Health Care Plan. Your application must specify which post you are applying for and outline how your skills/ experiences are relevant to the post.

Pay: Dependent upon experience – Kent Range 3 (£14,383 to £16,305 pro rata)

Post 1

Two teaching assistants are required to support children in Year 1. The children concerned are recognised as having a Primary Need of SLD (Specific Learning Difficulties) and global developmental delay. The successful applicants will also have to support a child with medical needs.

Both these positions are a part-time role only, working Mondays - Fridays from 9.00am - 12.05pm. The successful candidates will be required to work with the pupils on a one to one basis supporting the children across the curriculum.

Post 2

Two teaching assistants are required to support children in Key Stage 2 and in the Early Years Foundation Stage (reception)

  • This post will be to support a Year 4 pupil with a Primary Need of BESD (Behavioural Emotional and Social Difficulties) who has been diagnosed as having ADHD, the school is currently preparing an EHCP for this child. The pupil will require one-to-one support in whole class activities and with extra interventions. We are looking for someone who is able to set high expectations of behaviour and deliver engaging sessions planned for by the class teacher.

The pupil will need to be supported for 25 hours per week. Term time positions are a part-time role only, working Mondays - Fridays from 9.00am - 3.15pm. The successful candidate will be required to work with the pupils on a one to one basis.

  • This post will be to support an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) Child diagnosed with Down Syndrome and Global Delay. Experience with Makaton or PECs and delivering Speech and Language support is highly desirable. The successful applicant will work with the child one to one and deliver engaging sessions and intervention planned for by the class teacher.

The pupil will need to be supported for 25 hours per week. Term time positions are a part-time role only, working Mondays - Fridays from 9.00am - 3.15pm. The successful candidate will be required to work with the pupils on a one to one basis.

Ideally in applying for these posts you will have:

  • Previous experience of working with children with SEN
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) and Teaching Assistant training e.g. at least NVQ level 3.
