Administrative Assistant (Attendance, Pastoral and Parent Liaison)

Basis: Part time, 22.5hours per week, term time only plus one week of INSET

Salary: £17,753fte - Actual salary £9,135 per annum

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to work in our busy School Office.  Working with existing members of the team, we are looking for an individual who will monitor pupil attendance and liaise with parents about their child’s absence.  Working also with members of the Senior Leadership Team with regard to Safeguarding, Pupil Premium and Special Educational Needs.  The post also requires the individual to be first aid trained in order to be the first point of contact for injuries/sickness.

About the role

The role requires the successful candidate to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, analytical skills and an ability to communicate with our parents and visitors to the school at all levels (both within the organisation and external agencies).  Attention to detail is also a requirement since data entry onto SIMS is a daily task, as is the need for proficient written correspondence.  The individual must have a calm demeanour, to feel confident to deal with parents and their concerns, and have the ability to diffuse potential conflict situations. The role will require a degree of flexibility (no two days are the same) and work as part of a team in a challenging yet rewarding workplace.  Previous school experience is not essential but desirable. Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 08:45 - 13:30.

To apply, please visit the following website using this link - https://www.jobtrain.co.uk/leighacademiestrust/vacancies.ASPX?lstlocation=7

The successful candidate will be expected to complete an Enhanced DBS check as part of the on-boarding procedure.
