Multiple positions available
Job share available

Base: Parkview Academy (Welling), Pierview Academy (Gravesend), ALP Sittingbourne

Are you a practical, hands-on problem-solver who takes pride in keeping a site safe, smart and running smoothly? We're looking for Premises Officers to join ALP Schools and help care for three small independent schools supporting young people with special educational needs.

Working alongside our Premises Manager, you'll be the person who keeps everything ticking, from routine maintenance and minor repairs to compliance checks, security and the day-to-day upkeep that makes our schools a welcoming place to learn. No two days are the same, and the work genuinely matters.

We have multiple positions available across our sites, and we're open to considering a job share for the right candidates.

What you'll be doing

  • Carrying out repairs, DIY projects and a rolling programme of redecoration
  • Completing and recording statutory checks (fire, emergency lighting, water/legionella, electrical, asbestos awareness and more)
  • Liaising with contractors and keeping health & safety standards front and centre
  • Acting as a keyholder, supporting site security and locking-up routines
  • Keeping the sites clean, tidy and conducive to learning
  • Managing the school vehicles' servicing, MOTs and checks

What we're looking for

  • A relevant Health & Safety qualification or training
  • Skills or experience in a trade, with solid building repair and maintenance know-how
  • Good understanding of regulations such as COSHH, manual handling and legionella
  • A flexible, conscientious approach and the initiative to prioritise your own workload
  • A full driving licence; you'll travel between our three sites
  • A genuine understanding of, and patience with, children with SEN

Why join ALP Schools

  • School vehicle available for travel between sites
  • Free healthy school lunches every day
  • Free BUPA Cash Plan (Level 1 cover), including cash back towards:
  • Dental treatment – up to £60 per person
  • Dental injury treatment – up to £200 per person
  • Optical (glasses, contact lenses, sight tests) – up to £60 per person
  • Hospital in-patient/day-case stays – £20 per instance, up to 20 days/nights a year
  • Therapies (physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic, acupuncture, chiropody/podiatry) – up to £150 per person
  • Consultations, diagnostic tests and scans – up to £200 per person
  • Prescriptions – up to £25 per person
  • Bupa health assessments – up to £100 per person
  • Plus access to the Bupa Employee Assistance Programme, online health check and Bupa Anytime HealthLine
  • Paid breaks
  • Free parking at all school sites
  • Generous annual leave entitlement
