We are looking for a part time (Tuesday-Friday) 25 hours Teaching Assistant to work in KS1 and KS2 to support in-class learning. This post will be temporary in the first instance for one year, but there is the possibility of the role continuing.

We are searching for a bubbly, positive and enthusiastic person to join our friendly and supportive team. We need a TA with flexibility, a positive outlook, experience in learning support and the ability to contribute to our school’s community and vision.

The successful applicant will be sensitive to children’s varying needs, and be able to work under the guidance of the teaching team and Leadership Team.

Applicants should preferably be qualified to NVQ 2, and have knowledge of the development and learning styles of children and special educational needs. 

We are able to provide training for the right candidate.

 The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Support an individual and groups of children in achieving the lesson objectives
  • Feed back to the class teacher, keeping records of progress and behaviour and marking pupils' work
  • Support the learning and social and emotional needs of the class
  • Supervise lunchtime as a Midday Meals Supervisor for 30 minutes per day
  • Communicate with parents
  • Prepare resources and some administrative work
  • Deliver specialist interventions to small groups (training provided)
