Site Manager – Greatstone Primary School

Salary: KSD £27,904 – £29,020 (pro rata £15,083-£15,687 based on 20 hours)
Hours: 20–22.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Term Time plus 4 weeks
Location: Greatstone Primary School
Contract: Permanent

Greatstone Primary School, part of the Lightyear Federation, is seeking a dedicated Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management, maintenance and security of our school site. This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of our school community, offering the opportunity to make a real difference to the learning environment of our pupils.

About the Role

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our buildings and grounds are safe, secure, well-maintained and compliant with all relevant health and safety requirements. You will oversee routine maintenance, coordinate contractors, manage site-related budgets and supervise cleaning and grounds staff. You will also play a key role in planning for the future development of the school site.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the security of the school premises, including acting as a key holder.
  • Carrying out minor repairs, decoration and routine maintenance.
  • Managing contractors and arranging maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Monitoring site systems including heating, lighting, alarms and CCTV.
  • Undertaking health and safety inspections and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Supervising cleaning and grounds maintenance services.
  • Managing stock, supplies and site-related records.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in site management, premises management, facilities or building maintenance.
  • Has supervisory experience and can effectively organise staff and contractors.
  • Possesses practical maintenance and repair skills.
  • Has a good understanding of health and safety, including COSHH and fire safety requirements.
  • Is able to manage competing priorities and work independently.
  • Has basic ICT skills, including the use of email and digital record-keeping.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
