Information about the school

St Nicholas CEVC Primary School is a growing and ambitious Church of England school at the heart of the Strood community. Having opened as a through primary school in September 2024, we continue to grow year on year and are excited to welcome our first Year 6 class in September 2026. Joining St Nicholas now offers a unique opportunity to help shape a school that is still developing and evolving, where staff genuinely have a voice and can make a real difference to the lives of our children and families.

At St Nicholas, we believe every child has the God-given potential to grow, shine and flourish into something great. Our Christian vision sits at the heart of everything we do:

“With faith as small as a mustard seed we become STARs, nothing is impossible” – Matthew 17:20

We nurture children spiritually, academically and personally so they become STARs by learning to Strive, Trust, Achieve and Respect. Alongside our caring ethos, we are deeply committed to high expectations, excellent teaching and ensuring every child achieves their full potential.

Our children are kind, enthusiastic and genuinely love being part of St Nicholas. Staff work hard to create an environment where children feel safe, valued and inspired to do their very best. There is a genuine family feel throughout the school, supported by strong links with St Nicholas Church and the wider community.

Our recent SIAMS inspection recognised the strength of our vision and culture, stating:

“Leaders and governors create a culture where pupils and adults are known, accepted, respected and valued for who they are.”

We are incredibly proud of this recognition and of the warm, committed team we have built together. Staff wellbeing and professional development matter at St Nicholas, and collaboration sits at the heart of our practice. As a growing school, there are exciting opportunities to lead, develop and help shape future practice.
