About the Role

As our SENDCO, you will lead and manage SEND provision across the school, ensuring every child receives a high‑quality education and thrives both socially and academically. You will:

  • Work closely with staff, parents and external professionals
  • Support and develop colleagues who are eager to learn and committed to inclusive practice
  • Collaborate with the experienced MAST SENDCOs to share best practice

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a visible and proactive champion of SEND, confident in promoting inclusive practice across the school day to day
  • Has a practical understanding of how to remove barriers to learning and can translate strategy into effective classroom practice
  • Enjoys being present in classrooms, modelling approaches, coaching staff and working alongside colleagues to problem‑solve
  • Is solutions-focused, resilient and positive when faced with the challenges SEND can present
  • Is passionate about giving SEND pupils the best life chances
  • Holds the National SENCO Award or is willing to undertake it with our support

St Nicholas CEVC Primary School is a growing and ambitious Church of England school at the heart of the Strood community. Having opened as a through primary school in September 2024, we continue to grow year on year and are excited to welcome our first Year 6 class in September 2026.
