This role is part-time (17.75 hours per week 5 mornings from 9am to 12:00pm plus 1 afternoon 12:30pm to 3:15pm) covering all age groups Year R-Year 6. Paid at KSD and includes dedicated Personal PPA Time.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and committed Higher Learning Teaching Assistant to join our school on a part time basis to cover PPA 5 Mornings (9am-12pm) & 1 Afternoon (12.30-3.15pm). This includes your own PPA time.

You will join our supportive, highly experienced and happy team to collaborate with Teachers in the planning and delivery of programmes of teaching and learning activities for classes.

As a Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver assigned programmes of teaching and learning activities for classes to cover PPA for class teacher release.
  • Assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment and marking all PPA cover lesson work for the class.
  • Assess the needs of our pupils, using your detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils’ learning

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent experience), with knowledge acquired through training and experience a level of professional standards specified for HLTA status.
  • Experience of working with children of relevant age within a learning environment.
  • An understanding of National Curriculum requirements in relation to specialist area (e.g. additional needs, curriculum area), including planning, preparing and delivering programmes of learning activities to groups and classes.

Mereworth Community Primary School is a popular village school situated between Maidstone and Tonbridge. We are a vibrant, single form entry school situated in wonderful grounds which are used extensively to enhance the delivery of the curriculum. Our school is part of the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) programme to enhance quality play opportunities for all children. The school building is a mixture of Victorian, 1960’s and modern rooms. We have indoor learning zones, including a library, a music room, a computer room, and a Design & Technology room. We have extremely supportive parents and governors and wonderfully caring, polite and well-behaved children.
