Information about the school

Leigh Academy High Halstow is an over-subscribed one-form entry village primary school. Pupils are hard-working and respectful and parents and carers work closely with us to ensure our pupils receive the best opportunities.

The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme is integral to our curriculum. We aim for our pupils to become well-rounded, lifelong learners and global citizens that are ready for secondary school and beyond.

The school is fortunate to have fantastic indoor and outdoor environments to enhance the learning opportunities for the pupils. Additionally, all KS1 and KS2 pupils have access to a 1:1 device which enables staff to further adapt teaching and learning experiences. Leigh Academies Trust provides outstanding opportunities for staff to work collaboratively as well as receiving high-quality professional development at all stages of the career journey.

Our recent Ofsted report from June 2023 confirmed our over effectiveness to be outstanding - ' Leaders have high expectations for every pupil and particularly for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff engage pupils through the ambitious curriculum. Pupils are excited about their learning. This ‘learning buzz’ permeates the entire school.'

Our vision and values: - Leigh Academy High Halstow has at its core the pursuit of the highest standards possible in education. - We believe in high aspirations, high motivation and high achievement for all. Through our extended curriculum we seek to meet the needs of the individual. - We aim to build a community where everyone feels equally valued, safe and challenged to do their best in everything. - We are committed to ensuring the very best for our children in order for them to play a significant part in society.

"We believe in the huge potential of our pupils and focus relentlessly on high aspirations and high achievement. We recognise for some this could be in academic subjects whilst for others their strengths could lie in other areas such as sports and the arts. There is something very special about being a part of Leigh Academy High Halstow; everybody who walks through the academy senses the amazing atmosphere and the buzz of learning." - Principal Gemma Stangroom
