Fixed Term 1 year contract with a view to become permanent for the right candidate

Kent range 5 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset days)

Rowhill School has a tradition of musical performances and events developed which occur throughout the year. Music is a strength of the school, and students have the opportunity to access music interventions with a visiting guitar teacher, or in the fully equipped music studio

We are seeking committed and highly motivated staff to work as part of our team. Our curriculum is engaging, exciting and focuses on the development of the whole child including personal, social, cognitive, creative, health and wellbeing.

A really good working knowledge of Logic is essential, knowledge of Ableton and instrumental skills would also be advantageous. Studio work can also include other forms such as voice over, podcasting, and a flexible proactive approach in fundamental to the work.

The day-to-day role will involve a range of duties including working alongside the music teacher to deliver music lessons to primary and secondary aged students.   

The role will also include with small groups and individuals in the studio. We offer Arts Awards, Bronze and Silver, with some students specialising in music production for their unit 1. If you are keen to share musical knowledge with very deserving young people and would like to help them to discover their own musical identity, then this would be the job for you.

Information about the school

Rowhill School is a day special school designated for pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. The school currently has approximately 160 pupils on roll, between the ages of 5 and 16. Pupils have a wide range of needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, as well as behavioural, social and mental health needs. We also provide an Alternative Curriculum Provision for KS4 pupils, providing tutoring, both on and off site.

Our staff work closely with pupils to create an ethos of care, respect and success. At Rowhill, we feel strongly that our pupils are entitled to a broad, balanced, inclusive, relevant and learner-focused curriculum, which will develop the young people to be lifelong independent learners.
