Are you passionate about creating a safe, engaging environment for little people to thrive, whatever their starting points or needs? Do you want to work in a supportive, nurturing school, committed to providing the best start to children’s education?

At Brookfield, our Teaching Assistants are highly skilled and work closely with class teachers and leaders to shape children’s learning experiences. They play a vital role in wellbeing, social and academic progression.

This role is to work in our SEND classroom, alongside a passionate team of a lead HLTA and 2 TAs, supporting our children with complex needs. We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping children with a high level of SEND to thrive within our setting. Within the role there is a level of support with personal care, such as nappy changing.

We are looking for a teaching assistant who is:

  • Dedicated to helping children be the best they can be, socially, emotionally and academically regardless of their starting points
  • Able to work confidently with children with a high level of SEND need, but also support at a whole class level when required
  • Supportive of independent learning, providing targeted support where needed, actively promote inclusion
  • Supportive of the SEND team they work with, providing consistency for pupils with a calm, kind approach
  • Organised and efficient completing classroom tasks and preparation.
  • Committed to working collaboratively with positivity, drive and initiative.

What we can offer you:

  • A warm, supportive team at all levels, dedicated to putting the children at the heart of decision making
  • A comprehensive staff wellbeing offer (see attached documentation)
  • Regular CPD and development for staff
  • Future opportunities to work across The Flourish Federation and positively impact 2 schools (optional)

Information about the school

We are a small federation, consisting of our Infant and Junior schools. We created our federation seven years ago in order to ensure consistently strong practice across the primary phase. As a federation, we pride ourselves on our strong community. We have positive relationships with parents and our children feel happy, safe and demonstrate a real willingness to learn.

While still two separate schools with our own identities, we share a governing body and the leadership team work very closely together on a shared vision. This enables us to provide our pupils with the best chance of success.

Children are at the heart of all of our decision-making and we are passionate about sharing our strong practice with the community. Visits to the school are highly encouraged – we would love you to see what makes us unique.

The school benefits from strong relationships with families and a deep understanding of the local community.

“The whole family is part of the school and not just the pupils. It’s a warm, welcoming environment for all. Happy to have my child in this school.” – Parent

“Pupils flourish at this inclusive and welcoming school.” - Ofsted
