What does this job entail?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our support staff team at Herne Bay Infant and Nursery School. We are looking to appoint a motivated, positive and enthusiastic person who is committed to delivering high quality provision to our pupils under the direction and supervision of the classroom teacher and to cover classes for PPA in Key Stage 1 and EYFS.

Details of position:

Position type:   Fixed-term
Contract end:   31st August 2027
Hours:               24 hours across four days per week (days of the week open to discussion)
Time:                 8:30am - 3:30pm per day (including one hour unpaid lunch)
Weeks:              Term-time only, equivalent to 38 weeks per year

Information about the school

This large thriving school is well established in the area and shares a site with Herne Bay Junior School, bounded by Kings Road and Stanley Road and enjoying a central position in the town.

The school is a 2 to 3 form entry with a nursery and there are currently 250 children on roll. There is a good staff/pupil ratio throughout the school ensuring an inclusive, creative, supportive and secure environment.

As a school committed to safeguarding children all staff members will undergo an enhanced DBS check and candidates will be assessed on their suitability to work with children. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, checks include references, online searches and health clearance before employment.
