Job Purpose

  • Preparation of specific lesson materials for designated areas of the Science Departments
  • Organisation and management of resources relating to Physics and deployed where needed across Science

 

Key responsibilities/Key Tasks

  1. Daily duties to include, as appropriate
  • Collecting apparatus from storage
  • Checking individual components in and out for class use
  • Arranging for apparatus including books and audio visual aids to be available in rooms for lessons
  • Liaising with staff over use of equipment and stock
  • Advising staff of any problems, including safety aspects
  • Assisting with collection of sundry worksheets, books, audio visual aids and materials
  • Returning apparatus etc. to storage as soon as practicable
  • Repairing damages or arranging for this to be done
  • Constructing simple apparatus
  • Locking of laboratories when not in use
  • Preparing experiments, setting up apparatus and equipment for demonstration and practical lessons to maximise efficiency of use, as requested by teaching staff
  • Occasional assistance with practical equipment during lessons
  • In collaboration with the Curriculum Leader take oversight for health and safety aspects
