We wish to appoint a highly motivated teacher who is passionate about making a difference to children’s lives for KS1 from September 2026. ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team in our friendly one form entry Catholic Primary School. We are situated within extensive grounds, including a large field and Eco-garden to facilitate excellent outside learning for our wonderful children.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to plan and deliver an inclusive KS1 curriculum with a strong emphasis on phonics, adaptive teaching strategies and consistent behaviour routines to secure rapid progress for all pupils.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of systematic synthetic phonics.
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent teaching pedagogy and a commitment to ensuring the best possible outcomes for all children.
  • Inspire our children to be RICH (resourceful, independent, creative and happy) learners.
  • Be an enthusiastic team member who shares the vision of the school.
  • Be effective communicators with staff, parents and children.

St Augustine of Canterbury is a one form entry Catholic Primary School in Gillingham, Kent. We are a consistently good school (OFSTED February 2024, Denominational Inspection November 2019). Our OFSTED report stated: St Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Primary School is a busy, happy hive of activity for pupils. There is always something going on to interest and inform them.
