Are you ready to SHINE? Are you passionate about learning, energetic, nurturing, and do you have the skills to inspire and support pupils to enable them to thrive in all they do?

Our vision is for all our children at Burham C of E Primary School to ‘Shine’. We believe that all children should be given opportunities to ‘Shine’ and discover their true, unique potential through rich, engaging experiences that enable them to be successful, happy and independent learners. We were delighted with our recent SIAMS report (February 2024), which recognised the strengths of the school, referencing how pupils thrive academically within a supportive community. In addition to this, we are thrilled with our recent Ofsted inspection grading the school as ‘Good’ (June 2024).

At Burham Church of England Primary School we respect, value and include every member of our community. It is our aim to provide children with a safe, happy learning environment in which every member of the school community can flourish. Our aim is for children to build enriching relationships and become responsible, caring and successful citizens.

We are a caring and friendly team who are very supportive of each other. We have high expectations of ourselves as well as the children, as evidenced in our most recent Ofsted inspection.

We are seeking to appoint a KS1 teacher on a fixed-term contract until 31st August 2027. Part-time arrangements would be considered.

We are seeking someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • has high expectations and aspirations for themselves and the children they teach
  • shows commitment, enthusiasm and initiative
  • is approachable and nurturing
  • understands the importance of working as part of a team and the positive impact this has on learning and progress for all children
  • contributes to wider school life and understands the importance of being part of a community
  • is willing to learn and take responsibility for their continuous professional development

If you would like to visit the school, please contact the Headteacher, Mrs H Goddon, at headteacher@burham.kent.sch.uk to arrange a visit.

Burham C of E Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful applicant will be subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and online digital presence checks if invited to interview.
