Sandwich Infant School is a welcoming, community-focused school for children aged 5–7, where we pride ourselves on our warm, inclusive ethos and strong relationships with families.
 
We are seeking a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Midday Supervisor to join our dedicated team and help ensure that lunchtimes are safe, enjoyable and well-managed for all pupils.
 
This post is for 5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 12pm-1pm, term time only (38 weeks).
 
As a Midday Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting pupils during the lunchtime period, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and positive behaviour across the school site.
 
This will include supervising children in the dining hall and playground, encouraging social interaction and supporting pupils to have a positive lunchtime experience.
 
Key responsibilities
•     Supervise pupils in the dining hall, playground and school premises
•     Promote good behaviour, safety and wellbeing at all times
•     Encourage positive play, social skills and good manners
•     Assist pupils as needed during lunchtime routines
•     Deal with minor incidents and report concerns to appropriate staff
•     Support the school’s safeguarding, behaviour and health & safety policies
 
Midday Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that lunchtime is a safe, orderly and enjoyable period, acting as a positive role model for pupils.

Sandwich Infant School is a two-form entry school housed in a Victorian building. We enjoy close links with the community, the church, local nurseries and Sandwich Junior School. We are part of Aquila, The Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust (www.aquilatrust.co.uk) and are a member of the STAR (Sandwich Town and Rural) Alliance.

Sandwich Infant School is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all trustees, staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced Criminal Record Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service along with other relevant employment checks, including overseas criminal background checks, where applicable. We will also need to conduct social media checks at the point of application.
