A Rare and Exciting Opportunity at Burham CE Primary School!

As we continue to build on the school’s success and expand our current team, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and creative HLTA and Forest School Leader to inspire and nurture our children through outdoor learning.

Do you have what it takes to make our woodland areas SHINE with opportunity?

We are seeking a passionate outdoor enthusiast who genuinely believes there is no such thing as bad weather - and that getting muddy is an essential part of adventure! We are looking for someone who understands the importance of building resilience in children and recognises the vital role outdoor learning plays in developing confidence, curiosity and wellbeing.

At Burham CE Primary School, you will have the exciting opportunity to work alongside our PE, Sport and Wider Curriculum Leader to plan and deliver a dynamic Forest School curriculum on our beautiful school site. We are incredibly fortunate to have extensive woodland areas, a pond habitat and a vast allotment space within the school grounds.

In addition to leading Forest School provision, this role will also include providing PPA cover across the school, supporting teaching and learning within the classroom environment as part of our wider school team.

The role will include:

  • Planning, preparing and delivering woodland and outdoor learning activities across the school

  • Leading small-group and 1:1 Forest School interventions

  • Providing high-quality PPA cover for classes across the school

  • Supporting children to develop confidence, resilience and a love of the outdoors

  • Working collaboratively with staff to enrich the wider curriculum

Ideally, candidates will hold a Level 3 Forest School qualification; however, we are open to providing training for the right person with the passion and enthusiasm to grow into the role.

Working Hours:

  • 8:30am – 3:30pm

  • 5 days per week, term time only

  • 28.75 hours per week

If you are interested in joining our friendly and dedicated team, we would love to hear from you. Please contact the school for further information.

Come and help us create unforgettable outdoor learning experiences for our children while supporting learning across the whole school community!

Information about the school

Burham Church of England Primary School is a small school set in beautiful countryside. We are a distinctive church school based within the Rochester Diocese.

Our vision is for all our children at Burham CEP School to ‘Shine’. We believe that all children should be given opportunities to ‘Shine’ and discover their true unique potential through rich, engaging new experiences that enable them to be successful, happy and independent. We were delighted with our recent SIAMS report (February 2024), which recognised the strengths of the school, referencing how pupils thrive academically within a supportive community. In addition to our SIAMS, we are thrilled with our recent Ofsted inspection grading the school as 'Good' (June 2024.)

At Burham Church of England Primary School we respect, value and include each and everybody. It is our aim to provide children with a safe, happy learning environment in which every member of the school community will thrive. Our aim is for children to build enriching relationships and become responsible, caring and successful citizens.

We are a caring and friendly team who are very supportive of each other. We have high expectations of ourselves as well as the children, as evidenced through our last Ofsted inspection.

We are very close to Bluebell Hill as well as connected to the Peters Village bridge between Wouldham and Halling. The school is within easy reach of both the M2 and M20 motorways and therefore easily accessible from the Medway or Maidstone area.
