We are looking to appoint a full-time class teacher from September 2026. The year group and key stage is negotiable depending on the successful candidate's experiences to date. Halstead Community Primary School is a small school in Kent, on the outskirts of Bromley. We have mixed year group classes in Year 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, plus EYFS run as a Reception  class only with their own outdoor area.  We have very small nurturing classes and every single member of staff knows every single child. We also work closely with another small rural school within our Trust so that teachers can share planning to support staff workload and wellbeing.  We have a proven track record of supporting ECTs within their induction years and beyond, with incredible training options. We welcome applications from ECTs, as well as from experienced teachers. For ECTS, we offer strong support – an experienced mentor whom you will meet weekly during dedicated release time; an excellent training programme using materials from the ECF; regular observations of experienced colleagues, including visits to other schools.  For experienced teachers, we offer subject specific training, access to NPQs and professional coaching to further support wellbeing and workload.
Please note that, although this is a role listed to start in the new academic year, our INSET days are on 27th and 28th August and the successful candidate will be required to attend.

Visits can be arranged via the school office on 01959 532224.

For applicants who wish to apply without a tour, for ease and speed, we may be able to offer tours on interview days and after the closing date.  For experienced teachers who apply and who are required to provide contractual notice by 31st May, we can accommodate interviews ahead of this date, as  long as applications are received before Wednesday 20th May.
