Pay Range: Band 5 (Term time + 2 weeks)

About the role

We are seeking to appoint a committed and organised Access Arrangements Coordinator to support the development and delivery of high-quality SEND provision across the school, with a particular focus on examination access arrangements.

Working closely with the SENCo, you will play a key role in ensuring that students with additional needs are fully supported and able to access learning and assessments fairly and effectively, in line with the SEND Code of Practice and JCQ regulations.

Key purpose

To support the SENCo in implementing and developing the school’s SEND provision, with a specific responsibility for coordinating access arrangements, reasonable adjustments, and associated examination support processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the SENCo in implementing access arrangements and reasonable adjustments across lessons and examinations
  • Liaise with the SENCo and SAP: Systems Structure and Performance team to ensure all arrangements are in place and appropriately communicated
  • Ensure invigilators are timetabled and fully briefed regarding access arrangement requirements
  • Support the training of staff to ensure consistent and effective implementation of access arrangements in the classroom
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of access arrangements on student progress
  • Oversee and support testing processes to identify student needs and ensure timely interventions
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date access arrangement records, including Irlens lists and associated data/marksheets
  • Ensure robust evidence is maintained to meet JCQ inspection requirements
  • Monitor learning referrals and take appropriate action relating to access arrangements
  • Communicate access arrangement outcomes and testing information to parents, carers, and staff as appropriate
  • Work closely with the SENCo and Assistant SENCos to ensure consistent and effective provision
  • Follow all safeguarding procedures in line with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) guidance
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including attendance at relevant meetings and involvement in policy development and enrichment activities
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the SENCo, Vice Principal, or Executive Principal, appropriate to the role
