This is an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and imaginative Dance Teacher to lead our department.  We are looking for a natural leader with a proven track record of examination success who can build on our high standards and bring a fresh vision for high-quality dance education for all students.

The successful candidate will be teaching within our mirrored, spring-floor studios and purpose-built community theatre; you will engage and enthuse students in KS3, in GCSE Dance at KS4 and in RSL Dance at KS5.  As a renowned centre of excellence for Dance in the South East, we highly value extra-curricular opportunities and preparing students for local and national performances

Developing creative skills and encouraging young people to engage in Performing Arts is critical to this role. You will be a facilitator of people, developing school-wide initiatives and building relationships with external agencies to ensure Dance remains popular and accessible to all students.

The successful candidate will be well-organised and ready to develop their own leadership skills.  You will have already demonstrated an ability to teach to a consistently high standard and understand that the implementation of effective assessment is essential to student progress.

Information about the school

Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre is a mixed 11 – 18 wide ability school with Academy status with 2000 students including 350 in the Sixth Form. We are part of Tenterden Schools’ Trust working in collaboration with local primary schools and nurseries serving the Wealden town of Tenterden and the surrounding villages. The school is situated on the edge of Tenterden and enjoys a large semi-rural site overlooking open countryside. Home Farm Nursery is based in the grounds of Homewood School.
