We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed class teacher to join our KS2 team.

This role would suit an Early Career Teacher or someone in the early stages of their teaching journey who is eager to develop within a supportive and inspiring environment as well as someone with experience looking for something new and exciting!

Our school is a vibrant, nurturing and inclusive place where every member of the community is valued. We are proud of our warm and welcoming ethos, our enthusiastic and well-behaved children, and our strong partnerships with families. We are a school where staff are genuinely supported, teamwork is at the heart of what we do, and everyone is encouraged to grow and succeed.

We are looking for a passionate teacher who is dedicated to ensuring that all children achieve their very best. The successful candidate will have high expectations, a commitment to inclusive practice, and a desire to make learning engaging, meaningful and ambitious for every pupil.

In return, we offer:

  • A caring and supportive environment where wellbeing is prioritised
  • A strong, experienced and collaborative staff team
  • High-quality mentoring and a full induction programme for ECTs
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and strongly encouraged so that you can experience our unique environment first-hand. Please contact the school office to arrange an appointment.

Information about the school

Phoenix Community Primary School is a one-form entry school situated on the outskirts of Ashford. We benefit from extensive grounds and a well set out modern building. The school is well resourced and, as such, is able to provide opportunities for children significantly beyond that of the National Curriculum.

At Phoenix, we pride ourselves on being a welcoming and safe environment for all members of our community: pupils, parents, wider family, staff and visitors. We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils. The majority of visitors comment on the warm, friendly atmosphere and the attractive environment.

In 2026, we were proud to achieve the Nurture Award, recognising our strong commitment to supporting the wellbeing and development of every child. Our nurturing ethos underpins all that we do, ensuring that children feel safe, valued and ready to learn. We are dedicated to helping every child reach their full potential—academically, socially and emotionally—through high-quality support, strong relationships and a deep understanding of individual needs.

As a member of the CARE Foundation Trust, we work closely with nine other primary schools in our local area. Pupils benefit from a broad and enriched curriculum, including specialist sports teaching, alongside structured pastoral provision to support emotional wellbeing.

Within our school grounds, we assist our wider community with access to the Ashford Family Hub, the local Kent maintained library and a privately owned nursery.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our children. You are advised that this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and therefore this post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
