At Leigh Academy Hartley, we believe that every child deserves an exceptional education and every teacher deserves an exceptional start to their career. We are looking for a passionate, creative, and dedicated Class Teacher to join our vibrant school community.

Whether you are an experienced educator or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for the perfect place to plant your roots, we offer an environment where your professional growth is our priority.

Why Choose us?

We know that the first few years in the classroom are the most formative. That’s why we’ve built a culture that prioritises your development and wellbeing.

  • Outstanding ECT Support and Mentoring: You will be joining a structured induction programme. We provide dedicated mentors, regular coaching sessions, and strictly protected time to ensure you build the confidence and skills needed to master your classroom practice.
  • A Nurturing, Collaborative Culture: We pride ourselves on being a welcoming team. We value open communication and teamwork above all else. This is a safe space to ask questions, share ideas, and grow within a community that genuinely cares about your work-life balance.
  • High-Quality Professional Development: Growth doesn't stop after induction. You will have access to evidence-based CPD and ECT training fully aligned with the Early Career Framework. We offer clear, transparent pathways for career progression across the wider Trust.

If you are a motivated individual who wants to make a tangible difference in a supportive and forward-thinking academy, we would love to hear from you.

This is a permanent role working 2 days per week on a Monday and Tuesday, offering MPS/UPS based on experience.

Information about the school

Leigh Academy Hartley is a happy, thriving and “OUTSTANDING” (Ofsted rated) primary school based in Kent. We inspire our children to aim high and succeed, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge for the future. We promote understanding, respect and tolerance for each other. We have an amazing team of teachers and teaching assistants and we have recently been accredited as an IB World School , giving us scope to teach in a creative way. Learning is enriched and embedded through the use of our lovely outdoor environment, consisting of woodlands, a pond and grassy areas, which not only supports development but also helps our children’s sense of well-being. Our aim is to create a positive, stimulating and happy learning environment with spacious buildings and grounds, enabling children to succeed and realise their full potential. We promote their academic, spiritual, moral, cultural and physical development to prepare them for future opportunities, responsibilities and experiences.

We are committed to providing all children with the same opportunities, regardless of gender, race, creed or culture. We are wholly committed to creating a learning environment which is safe and secure, stimulating and exciting, in order that our children come to school with a feeling of anticipation and enthusiasm.

"Our motto – ‘Happy, Positive Achievers – Creating a better world together’ underpins the values for all in the academy and that we want to be able to provide all the support our children need to achieve this both emotionally and academically. We invite you to join us on this exciting journey of discovery and growth". - Stuart Mitchell, Principal

"Pupils are incredibly enthusiastic in lessons, and the school is a calm and purposeful environment. They behave excellently because they firmly believe in the school’s values and recognise how they help them to do well in school." - Ofsted, 2023
