Five Acre Wood School is seeking an exceptional and motivated Assistant Headteacher to join our dedicated leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate educator to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our school and supporting our vision of delivering outstanding education for every pupil.

About the Role
As Assistant Headteacher, you will work closely with the Deputy Headteacher and senior leaders to drive school improvement, uphold high standards of teaching and learning, and ensure the best possible outcomes for all students. You will lead on key strategic areas, support staff development, and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and aspirational school culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the strategic leadership and management of the school
  • Lead and monitor high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment
  • Drive initiatives that improve pupil progress and wellbeing
  • Line-manage and develop staff, fostering a culture of excellence
  • Contribute to safeguarding and the promotion of a safe learning environment
  • Engage effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies

About You

  • An experienced and inspiring teacher with a strong track record of impact
  • Proven leadership experience, ideally within a senior or middle leadership role
  • A clear vision for inclusive education and student success
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development

The salary for this role is based on the Teachers payscale L12-16, depending on experience and includes a special educational needs payment.
