We are seeking an exceptional Head of School – Semi-Formal Provision  to lead a dynamic and nurturing learning environment designed for pupils with diverse and complex needs. This is more than a leadership role — it’s an opportunity to shape a provision that transforms lives, drives inclusion, and delivers meaningful outcomes for every learner.

As Head of School, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across our semi-formal pathway, ensuring a high-quality, personalised curriculum that supports both academic progress and life skills development. You will inspire and develop a skilled multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

We are looking for a confident, forward-thinking leader who:

  • Has a strong background in SEND and semi-formal or specialist provision

  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of curriculum design for pupils with complex needs

  • Leads with integrity, clarity, and a genuine passion for inclusion and pupil success

In return, you will join a values-driven organisation where innovation is encouraged, professional growth is supported, and every day brings the chance to make a lasting difference.

If you’re ready to lead with purpose and elevate provision to the next level, we’d love to hear from you.

Information about the school

Serenity School is a unique provision following a therapeutic humanistic approach to education and childhood development. Our goal is to ensure that vulnerable children stay within an educational setting or return from home education as quickly as possible and take advantage of our 3 Tier Curriculum offer. We have an exciting, yet challenging curriculum set out for pupils ranging from PMLD in the Nurture Centre to pupils in Semi Formal with ASD and other learning difficulties such as GD, SLCD to Formal the pathway with pupils who have an EHCP for ASD/ADHD/SLCD etc. Serenity is built upon the vision and excellence of highly skilled professionals with over 20 years of experience in education and in clinical environments. Through experiences gained we recognise that the well-being and academic achievement of the majority of young people is significantly accelerated by addressing the root causes of behavioural, emotional, social difficulties, and without this some young people simply cannot access education.

Our staff members, including, but not limited to, special education teachers, instructional aides, speech language therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, and administration.
