Information about the school

Little Acorns School provides a therapeutic education for children with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, as well other associated difficulties and challenging behaviours. Each child receives an individual learning plan and separate therapeutic support plan inline with the outcomes of their EHCPs.

We have recently had a successful Material Change inspection meaning we now will be growing the school size, having upto 54 pupils by 2026/27.

Little Acorns welcomes children with a range of needs including SEMH, Autism and ADHD.

The core purpose of Little Acorns School is to equip every pupil with the skills and knowledge they need to lead healthy and productive lives. We believe all children have the right to an education. We look beyond the complex, and sometimes challenging circumstances of each pupil to find the potential within.

The majority of our pupils have experienced turbulence in their schooling and many have needs which have a significant impact on their cognitive development, their social, emotional development and their communication skills. We aim to support pupils in a safe school environment, and work closely with parents, carers and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes, to maximise life chances and ensure they can be as independent as possible.

Our curriculum is ambitious for all our pupils. Our school aims to ensure pupils journeys through school are positive ones.

We offer therapeutic input alongside our academics, to help our pupils remove barriers to learning and become successful in and out of school.
