Do you love designing exceptional continuous provision that sparks curiosity, creativity and independence — and make coming to school fun? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

About us

  • A diverse, values‑led primary school where compassion, friendship, resilience, respect and aspiration are at the heart of everything we do.
  • We serve a richly diverse community and are committed to inclusive, high‑quality everyday teaching.
  • Supportive leadership – planning days and well-being days offered to give you work life balance

The role
We are seeking a dynamic Reception teacher who will:

  • Plan and deliver a high‑quality EYFS curriculum that develops communication, language, early reading, number sense, self‑regulation and independent learning through outstanding continuous provision.
  • Create enabling, engaging indoor and outdoor environments that encourage exploration, sustained play and proud outcomes for all pupils.
  • Make coming to school fun — build routines, activities and classroom culture that children eagerly join each day.
  • Work closely with our new nursery provision and KS1 colleagues to ensure seamless transitions and coherent curriculum progression.
  • Work closely with the designated Assistant Headteacher and take responsibility for deploying and line‑managing support staff with confidence and sensitivity.
  • Use assessment skilfully to identify next steps and adapt provision so every child — especially disadvantaged pupils and those with EAL or SEND — makes strong progress.
  • Model excellent classroom practice, contribute to whole‑school improvement priorities (reading, writing, maths fluency) and participate in planning and moderation.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with families and colleagues; be personable, approachable and maintain high expectations.
  • Maintain safeguarding and pupil well‑being as non‑negotiable priorities.

Person specification — essential

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience of planning and delivering continuous provision and play‑led learning in Reception (preferred).
  • Experience of deploying and line‑managing teaching assistants or support staff
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and evidence‑informed practice.
  • A warm, personable approach and a clear commitment to making school an engaging, joyful place to learn.
  • Experience or willingness to adapt practice for pupils with EAL and SEND.

What we offer

  • A supportive, values‑driven leadership team and targeted professional development aligned to school priorities.
  • Close collaboration with nursery and KS1 teams to design strong transitions.
  • A warm, inclusive school community where pupils are proud and staff are valued
