Advert

The Board of Governors and I would like to warmly welcome you to Snodland Church of England Primary (CEP) School. We are looking to recruit a Headteacher who embodies the school’s Christian values, to build on the strong foundations laid by our outgoing Headteacher and lead our school in this exciting next chapter.

We are very proud of our school and of the achievements of everyone who is a part of our community, including pupils, teaching staff, leadership team, support staff and our Board of Governors.

We welcome visits to the school and see for yourself the inclusive and supportive learning environment where children learn and flourish.

Please contact Mrs Dring on 01634 241251 to arrange an appointment to a visit on one of the following dates:

  • Thursday 23rd April
  • Friday 24th April
  • Thursday 30th April
  • Friday 1st May
  • Tuesday 5th May

What we are looking for

  • Applicants with senior leadership experience, a strong moral compass, empathy, and a drive to achieve exceptional standards throughout the school.
  • Ability to implement strategies which enable focused pupil behaviour, so children are ready to learn and achieve their full potential.
  • A person with the motivation and passion to continue nurturing our pupils' inquisitive minds, so they leave Snodland CEP School as valued members of the community and ready for the next steps in their learning journey.
  • A commitment to professionally develop our staff so everyone has opportunities to develop and achieve their full potential.
  • A headteacher to be an operational expert; yet have confidence to delegate, strategically oversee, and ensure the financial stability and high quality teaching our community deserves.
  • A leader who will further develop the ambitious and inclusive curriculum for all pupils, especially those with SEND and vulnerabilities.

Pupils across the school have requested a Headteacher who is “happy”, “funny”, “respects everyone”, “kind”, “fair” and is a “strong figure, confident in what they do”, and who “likes being at school”. The children want a Headteacher who is involved in their learning, personally gives out rewards and celebrates their achievements with them.

What we will offer you:

  • Regular 1:1 meeting with the Chair of Governors to support your personal and professional growth in the role and ensure your good wellbeing.
  • Midyear appraisal review.
  • An experienced and committed Governing Board who will strategically oversee and monitor the implementation and impact of the agreed strategic intent.
  • A financially secure school with funds to drive future success.
  • Experienced and dedicated senior and middle leadership team.
  • Highly talented and committed staff.

Information about the school

Snodland CEP School is a group 3, two-form entry primary school with an independent pre-school onsite. We have strong links to our Parish Churches of All Saints and Christ Church and within the wider community, working collaboratively with other schools in the local area.

We are grateful for our large school site which boasts a large playground with play equipment including a trim trail and outdoor gym, forest school, allotment area and large sports field. The EYFS outdoor area has recently been redeveloped and offers children an interactive space to develop free play and can be arranged by teachers to build and explore curriculum focuses.

Our classrooms, which all open out onto the shared playground, are all equipped with interactive whiteboards and technology to support teaching and learning. We have a hall with a purpose-built stage, a ceiling mounted projector and screen to present student performances and collective worship. We are fortunate to have bespoke areas throughout the school which are used to facilitate small group work and targeted interventions, and we have several indoor and outdoor areas which children, including those with SEND can calmly regulate in a supported environment so they are able to access their learning.

At Snodland CEP School we are committed to our vision, that we are ‘Living life to the full, to the glory of God’, every member of our school community shines their light, and their unique talents are shared with and appreciated at Snodland CEP School.

Snodland CEP School is based in the growing town of Snodland, at the foot of the North Downs, which is less than an hour from both the beautiful Kent Coast and central London. Snodland is historically an industrial town which saw rapid expansion during the 19th Century and continues to be an area, with its close links to London, which is expanding with a diverse population. The school is easily reached by both the M2 and M20 motorways and there is ample onsite parking. The school is a 10 minute walk to the station which is on the high-speed line to London St Pancras.
