Smarden Primary School is an inspiring and vibrant place to teach. We are looking for a committed and ambitious Assistant Headteacher who is as enthusiastic and passionate about our mission, ensuring every child, whatever their background, receives a high quality education.  

Applying your creativity and imagination you’ll demonstrate how to motivate, challenge and inspire staff and students; combining professional integrity with high expectations of yourself and others.  You will play a significant role in improving the quality of teaching and pupils’ learning, together with promoting the vision, values and aspirations of the school and its wider community. 

This is a rare opportunity in a key leadership role within the trust, and will provide an excellent platform for further promotion.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Able to inspire others to follow through strong communication skills, good influencing skills and clear thinking

• An excellent classroom practitioner with a real interest in pedagogy, with the energy and charisma to lead and inspire others

• Able to develop positive relationships with both children and staff 

• Understanding of the educational, welfare and social needs of the children whom we are supporting

• Enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team

• Able to think analytically and creatively

• Committed to raise the achievement of all students of all abilities

• Committed to the safeguarding and well-being of all pupils
