Ryarsh Primary School

This vacancy arises as part of a planned leadership transition within the school, following the forthcoming departure of the current Headteacher. Further details will be shared with prospective candidates.

This is a rare opportunity to join a school where relationships are at the heart of everything we do and where leadership is genuinely nurtured and developed.

We are seeking an exceptional and ambitious leader ready to take the next step in their career within a supportive, values-driven and forward-thinking school. Working closely with the Headteacher, you will play a key role in leading teaching and learning, shaping strategic direction and driving school improvement.

At Ryarsh, we invest in people. We create a culture where staff are trusted, supported and developed, and where leadership is grounded in strong relationships and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.

The Role

You will:

  • Lead high-quality teaching, learning and assessment
  • Drive school improvement priorities
  • Develop and support staff through coaching and collaboration
  • Ensure consistency in curriculum and pedagogy
  • Act as a Designated Safeguarding Leader

This is a part class-based role, with a teaching commitment of 2–3 days per week (to be agreed), alongside leadership time. We believe strong leadership is rooted in classroom practice.

Our Children

Our children are happy, articulate and confident, with excellent learning behaviours and a genuine enthusiasm for school life. They are a pleasure to teach.

Who We Are Looking For

At Ryarsh, leadership is built on relationships. We are seeking someone who can inspire, influence and bring others with them.

We are looking for a leader who:

  • Has successful leadership experience
  • Can inspire, motivate and develop others
  • Thinks strategically and drives improvement
  • Is committed to inclusion and high expectations
  • Builds strong relationships with staff, pupils and families
  • Embodies our values of compassion, integrity, unity, determination and respect

What We Offer

  • A supportive, values-led school community
  • Enthusiastic and motivated children
  • A dedicated and welcoming staff team
  • A culture of trust and professional respect
  • Strong commitment to staff wellbeing
  • Opportunities for leadership development

Information about the school

At Ryarsh Primary School, we recognise that while outcomes matter, they only tell part of the story.

Schools rightly spend time analysing measurable success—assessment outcomes, progress, work in books and pupil voice. We are proud of the strong outcomes our children achieve. However, we believe that what truly defines a school cannot always be measured. It is found in the culture we create, the relationships we build and the way every member of our community is supported to thrive.

When you join Ryarsh Primary School, you become part of something more than a workplace—you become part of a family. We do not use that term lightly. Whilst communities can be formed through circumstance or location, we see ourselves as a family because we are bound together by strong, meaningful relationships.

Within our Ryarsh family, everyone—regardless of age or role—is a learner. We are a community where minds are nurtured and challenged, where curiosity is encouraged and where every individual is supported to grow and flourish. Our approach is rooted in thoughtful, research-informed practice, enabling us to remain reflective, innovative and continually striving to improve.

We believe in working collaboratively and with purpose. We listen carefully, value every voice and empower all members of our community to contribute meaningfully to the life of the school. Every individual plays a vital role in shaping what makes Ryarsh such a special place.

There is something quietly powerful about what happens here each day—a deep sense of belonging, care and shared purpose. It is this that truly defines Ryarsh Primary School.
