Luton Primary School are looking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Assistant Head of School. This strategic role could include leading on either Inclusion, Pastoral and Safeguarding, or Behaviour and Attendance, depending on the candidate’s specific skills and experience.   • Someone who can drive forward change whilst inspiring and supporting colleagues, ensuring consistency in practice and policy
  • Someone with successful experience in line management
  • Someone with high expectations of both themselves and children
  • Someone committed to securing the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the ethos and values of the school

The Assistant Head of School will:

  • Work closely with and under the direction of the Head of School and Deputy Head of School
  • Assist in the leadership and management of the school
  • Line manage and hold to account one or more of the following: SENDCo, DSL and Attendance Officer (in conjunction with the Office Manager), with oversight of the HSSW and Nurture Teams
  • Consistently role-model high expectations, and coach/mentor colleagues requiring support
  • Support colleagues in managing and recording information on systems relating to behaviour, inclusion, safeguarding, pastoral and attendance
  • Support positive behaviour management across the school and ensure consistent delivery of the Relationship Policy
  • Support senior leaders with reporting to the Trust, external agencies and stakeholders
  • Lead CPD and training sessions for colleagues
  • Undertake pastoral, administrative and leadership duties
  • Act as a critical friend to the Head of School and Deputy Head of School
