Salary: FMAT Band B1 £23,518.00 p.a. FTE (pro-rata £17,544.87 p.a.) 

Hours: 19.5 hours per weekMonday – Thursday 9am - 1pm  Friday 9am – 12.30pm, Term Time only

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our wonderful and supportive team. You should be a positive, enthusiastic person who loves working with children, especially children with Special Educational Needs.  Above all, you need to want the very best for our children and be prepared to put their needs first. Children will be at the heart of your work. You must be able to demonstrate that you understand the importance of educating the whole child.  It is essential that the applicant has good English/Maths skills and should preferably hold an NVQ 3 or equivalent teaching assistant qualification. 

Responsibilities may include:  Supporting groups of children, a child 1:1, in achieving the lesson objective, leading groups of children or 1:1 intervention programmes.  Feeding back to the class teacher, sometimes keeping records of progress and behaviour.  Working with children to support any social, emotional, behavioural, personal care or medical needs.

The ideal candidate will:  Be passionate and share a commitment to support our children.  Ideally have some knowledge or experience working with children with SEND.  Have the enthusiasm to provide personalised learning experiences to children with SEND.  Have a calm, patient and encouraging manner, with an ability to make learning fun.  An ability to be self-motivated and manage time effectively in order to maximise children’s learning time.  Flexible and willing to support children in a variety of situations.
