Are you an inspiring, creative, and passionate teacher? Leigh Academy High Halstow has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Class Teacher to join our welcoming and supportive team from September 2026.

At Leigh Academy High Halstow, we are proud of our strong community ethos and commitment to ensuring every child receives an excellent education. Our academy is a place where children are encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

From September 2025, our academy expanded its age range to include provision for children aged 3-4, further strengthening our commitment to supporting pupils throughout the early stages of their education. Our extensive outdoor space provides rich opportunities for learning, exploration, and play, helping children develop both academically and personally.

We are seeking a teacher who places children at the heart of school life and has high expectations for both achievement and behaviour. You will be someone who inspires and motivates pupils to reach their full potential while fostering a positive and engaging classroom environment.

In return, you will join a school with supportive colleagues and hardworking pupils, where collaboration and shared ambition drive success. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team that values creativity, dedication, and continuous improvement.

We can offer you:

  • The opportunity to be part of a welcoming and ambitious academy community
  • Supportive colleagues and enthusiastic, hardworking pupils
  • Extensive outdoor space that enriches teaching and learning opportunities
  • A collaborative and forward-thinking environment where teamwork is valued
  • Access to excellent professional development opportunities within the wider Leigh Academies Trust network

If you are passionate about making a difference and eager to contribute to our school’s continued success, we look forward to receiving your application.

Information about the school

Leigh Academy High Halstow is an over-subscribed one-form entry village primary school. Pupils are hard-working and respectful and parents and carers work closely with us to ensure our pupils receive the best opportunities.

The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme is integral to our curriculum. We aim for our pupils to become well-rounded, lifelong learners and global citizens that are ready for secondary school and beyond.

The school is fortunate to have fantastic indoor and outdoor environments to enhance the learning opportunities for the pupils. Additionally, all KS1 and KS2 pupils have access to a 1:1 device which enables staff to further adapt teaching and learning experiences. Leigh Academies Trust provides outstanding opportunities for staff to work collaboratively as well as receiving high-quality professional development at all stages of the career journey.

Our recent Ofsted report from June 2023 confirmed our over effectiveness to be outstanding - ' Leaders have high expectations for every pupil and particularly for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff engage pupils through the ambitious curriculum. Pupils are excited about their learning. This ‘learning buzz’ permeates the entire school.'

Our vision and values: - Leigh Academy High Halstow has at its core the pursuit of the highest standards possible in education. - We believe in high aspirations, high motivation and high achievement for all. Through our extended curriculum we seek to meet the needs of the individual. - We aim to build a community where everyone feels equally valued, safe and challenged to do their best in everything. - We are committed to ensuring the very best for our children in order for them to play a significant part in society.

"We believe in the huge potential of our pupils and focus relentlessly on high aspirations and high achievement. We recognise for some this could be in academic subjects whilst for others their strengths could lie in other areas such as sports and the arts. There is something very special about being a part of Leigh Academy High Halstow; everybody who walks through the academy senses the amazing atmosphere and the buzz of learning." - Principal Gemma Stangroom
