Advert

We are seeking a Superviser to lead our after-school wrap-around care provision.

Chevening (St. Botolph’s) Primary School's highly successful after school club, ACTIVE8, runs Monday to Thursday, 3.20-5 or 6pm, term time only.

The working pattern for staff is 3.00-5 or 6pm, so there is time to set up and prepare the activities and snacks for the children.

Currently we have a maximumn of 32 children most evenings and, depending on demand, may look to expand this provision to include Fridays 3-5pm.

Ready to start from 21st April 2026, we want to recruit someone to lead our ACTIVE8 team.

This person needs to hold an NVQ level 3 in child care, supporting teaching and learning, play work or an equivalent qualification.

We are offering:

  • A great school to be part of;
  • Children who are enthusiastic, well behaved and fun loving.
  • A great working team
  • Salary: Kent Pay Scale C

Feedback from the children and parents who use ACTIVE8 demonstrate how much the children enjoy the club and how highly it is valued by our parents. We are looking for the right person to join our really strong staff team and shape ACTIVE8 in the next part of its development. At present, there's a variety of mixed age social time, table- top activities, outside play, time in the ICT Suite and games in the School Hall.

Please come and visit us and discuss whether any of these flexible work options work for you and for us. In the first instance, please contact Miss Kayleigh Derby, our School Office Manager; office@chevening.kent.sch.uk or 01732 452895.

Information about the school

We are a thriving, one form entry school within an idyllic village setting with excellent road connections. The school has close links with St. Botolph’s Church, Chipstead village, and Chevening House. We had a very successful church SIAMs inspection in Nov 2025. Our June 2025 OFSTED inspection was ungraded and confirmed that standards had been maintained since the last inspection. We successfully achieved the NurtureUK accreditation in Autumn 2025.

Chevening children are enthusiastic and enjoy learning. The staff team is diligent and dedicated to providing the best education for the children.

Rooted in the parable of the Mustard Seed, Chevening’s vision is to be a place of nurture and growth for every child, our school family and the wider world.

At Chevening all can find shelter, strength and purpose through God’s love and Christ’s teachings. We seek to see everyone flourish spiritually, socially and academically. We will achieve this by being: ⋄ True to Christ and His teachings   ⋄ Known for kind and thoughtful actions and attitudes   ⋄ Inclusive in serving, sharing and showing God’s love to benefit all.

This Biblical Vision underpins our discussions, decisions and direction; our school values are well-established and alive in all we do. We are seeking individuals who can uphold this ethos.

If you want to know more about this opportunity we would love to hear from you!

Chevening (St Botolph's) CE (VA) Primary School is committed to equal opportunities and to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff to share this commitment.
