We have a vacancy for a Midday Meal Supervisor and are looking forward to welcoming somebody into our wonderful team.

What does this job entail?

Our Midday Meal Supervisor team work with the children on the playground and in the hall for the duration of their lunch break.

Our school is committed to OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning), and recognise the importance of lunchtimes for our pupils. We were recently awarded a Gold OPAL Award for our provision, reflecting the high quality of play provided. As a Midday Meal Supervisor, you would be part of our Play Team, supporting this provision during lunchtime.

Are you interested?

The position would be term time for 6 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 11:54 – 13:06. This is to provide an hour of lunch supervision, plus a little extra time for set up and handover time.

This role is a fixed term position until 31st December 2026 at present, with potential for extension.

If you are flexible, child-friendly, with a sense of humour, and can also use your initiative and be proactive, we would welcome your application.

Previous experience would be welcomed, however, not required as training and support will be provided.

Information about the school

This large thriving school is well established in the area and shares a site with Herne Bay Junior School, bounded by Kings Road and Stanley Road and enjoying a central position in the town.

The school is a 3 form entry with a nursery and there are currently 250 children on roll. There is a good staff/pupil ratio throughout the school ensuring an inclusive, creative, supportive and secure environment.

As a school committed to safeguarding children all staff members will undergo an enhanced DBS check and candidates will be assessed on their suitability to work with children.
