We are looking for a friendly, organised and professional School Receptionist to join our lovely school admin team.  You will be the first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff and visitors coming to the school in the mornings so you will play a vital role in creating a warm and positive welcome to the school.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Office Manager and other members of school staff as and when required to support the smooth running of the school office.  This role also includes supporting the Family Liaison Officer with attendance, which will include producing letters and making phone calls home to families.  This role, like many in schools, is multi-faceted and often no two days will be the same.  In applying for this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills, qualities and abilities.

  • Previous experience of working in a receptionist, customer facing role
  • Confident in taking and making telephone calls
  • Good literacy and mathematical skills
  • Experience of Microsoft applications, particularly O365, Word and Excel
  • Experience of computerised data systems
  • Be an excellent communicator; verbally and written
  • A very keen eye for detail with excellent presentation skills
  • High standards of work ethic and self-motivation
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • The ability to form positive relationships with children and adults
  • High standards of personal presentation, punctuality, professional standards and team work
  • Resilient, flexible and adaptable; confident and calm

We are a Church of England Aided Junior school, situated in the heart of Whitstable. We are a two form entry school with a total of eight classes. Locally we are known as 'The Endowed' and we describe ourselves as an old school with a young heart. This year we are excited to be celebrating our 180th birthday!
