Are you looking for a role where you can truly make a difference? Woodchurch CEP School is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 2 (KS2) team.   • Start date: 20th April 2026
  • Hours: 9:00am – 3:00pm, Monday to Friday (term time only, with 30 minutes for lunch)
  • Contract: Initially until the end of July 2026 with the possibility of becoming permanent. 
  • Salary: Kent Range A

While this vacancy is initially within KS2, we are looking for a flexible individual who is happy to work across any year group to support our pupils' diverse needs. For the right candidate, there may be the opportunity to move throughout the school should the role become permanent.

The Role & Responsibilities

Working under the direct guidance of our teaching staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and progress of our pupils. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Classroom Support: Working with individuals or small groups to support progress in literacy, numeracy, and communication.
  • Inclusion & Wellbeing: Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and fostering their emotional and social well-being.
  • Active Learning: Supporting learning through play and structured activities, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Flexibility in Action: Helping to maintain a productive learning environment and occasionally supervising classes for short periods during planned teacher release time.
  • Holistic Care:  Fostering pupils' emotional and social well-being whilst developing their independence ready for the next stage of their education.

Position Details & Salary

  • Location: Woodchurch CEP School, Bethersden Road, TN26 3QJ.
  • Salary Range: Kent Range A (KSA).
  • Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour (£24,513 per annum full-time equivalent).
  • Hours: 27.5 hours per week, Term Time Only (38 weeks).

Pro-Rata Salary Calculation

Based on the current Kent Range A figures, your estimated pro-rata annual salary is £13,285 (this is likely to increase in April when KCC release pay increase information).

Woodchurch Church of England Primary School has 165 children on roll and is situated in the heart of the Kent countryside in the village of Woodchurch, 6 miles from Ashford and 4 miles from Tenterden.
