Are you an enthusiastic Computer Science teacher passionate about helping students understand computing, programming and the digital technologies shaping our world? The Malling School, recognised as a Good school with aspects graded Outstanding by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated Computer Science Teacher to join our supportive and ambitious team.

About the Department

Computer Science at The Malling School helps students develop knowledge of computing systems, programming and the technologies shaping modern life. Our curriculum encourages logical thinking, creativity and problem-solving while developing transferable skills such as computational thinking and digital literacy.

We support staff through:
• Efficient assessment systems that support learning while managing workload
• Weekly subject-specific CPD and collaboration with external partners
• Curriculum development with outstanding schools and subject specialists

The Role

As a Computer Science Teacher you will:
• Teach Computer Science up to GCSE (with potential KS5 opportunities depending on experience)
• Participate in a strong professional learning programme
• Benefit from highly effective behaviour systems that support excellent teaching
• Receive personalised induction, coaching and developmental learning walks
• Contribute to the development of an ambitious Computer Science curriculum

The Successful Candidate Will

  • Hold QTS and be able to teach Computer Science to KS3 and GCSE
    • Be reflective, innovative and committed to continuous improvement
    • Demonstrate a strong track record of supporting student progress
    • Be motivated to make a positive difference to young people
    • Bring enthusiasm, subject passion and a values-driven approach

All successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure, Occupational Health check, two satisfactory references, an online check, and, where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check. A mixed 11-19 co-educational High School of 1,000 pupils serving the historic market town of West Malling and surrounding villages. The school is set in pleasant rural surroundings and has its own lake and extensive grounds.

West Malling is close to the county town of Maidstone and has excellent rail links to London and Ashford
