Advert

Snodland CEP School is a "good" school where children "thrive in the calm and purposeful environment" and "they rise to teachers’ high expectations to flourish personally, socially and academically" (Ofsted October 2022).

We would like a Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team.

This position is for 32.5 hours per week (8.30am-3.30pm + 0.5 hours each lunchtime as a Play Assistant).

We are looking for someone with good subject knowledge in reading, writing and maths, who is able to work well as part of a large team, supporting children to make progress in their learning.

You don't need to have previous experience of working with children but need to have excellent organisational skills, show initiative and be able to work with a range of different adults and children.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to go into teaching in the future; we will soon be recruiting for trainee teachers for September 2026 so this would be a great opportunity to get to know the school before potentially joining us in your teacher training.

Please apply for this TA position through Kent Teach (www.kent-teach.com).

Snodland CEP School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Criminal Records Bureau.

Information about the school

Snodland CEP School is a group 3, two-form entry primary school with an independent pre-school onsite. We have strong links to our Parish Churches of All Saints and Christ Church and within the wider community, working collaboratively with other schools in the local area.

We are grateful for our large school site which boasts a large playground with play equipment including a trim trail and outdoor gym, forest school, allotment area and large sports field. The EYFS outdoor area has recently been redeveloped and offers children an interactive space to develop free play and can be arranged by teachers to build and explore curriculum focuses.

Our classrooms, which all open out onto the shared playground, are all equipped with interactive whiteboards and technology to support teaching and learning. We have a hall with a purpose-built stage, a ceiling mounted projector and screen to present student performances and collective worship. We are fortunate to have bespoke areas throughout the school which are used to facilitate small group work and targeted interventions, and we have several indoor and outdoor areas which children, including those with SEND can calmly regulate in a supported environment so they are able to access their learning.

At Snodland CEP School we are committed to our vision, that we are ‘Living life to the full, to the glory of God’, every member of our school community shines their light, and their unique talents are shared with and appreciated at Snodland CEP School.

Snodland CEP School is based in the growing town of Snodland, at the foot of the North Downs, which is less than an hour from both the beautiful Kent Coast and central London. Snodland is historically an industrial town which saw rapid expansion during the 19th Century and continues to be an area, with its close links to London, which is expanding with a diverse population. The school is easily reached by both the M2 and M20 motorways and there is ample onsite parking. The school is a 10 minute walk to the station which is on the high-speed line to London St Pancras.
