Information about the federation

Newington CEP School and Lower Halstow School are single form entry village Primary Schools for children aged 2 - 11 and 4-11. Both have close links with their village church and community and spacious school grounds. Our schools offer a safe secure learning environment and are well equipped with a variety of resources and healthy budget for projects.

Newington was extended in 2000 with 4 additional classrooms and library and the original building was fully renovated in 2021 with the addition of a staff room, outdoor classroom and MUGA. It has an on-site nursery building catering for pupils from 2 years old. Lower Halstow School was last extended in 2014 and offers many modern facilities such as a sports hall, running track, outdoor classroom, computer suite & separate dining hall.

We have supportive governors and parents and our pupils are happy, polite, enthusiastic and are proud of their schools. We are constantly striving to improve the opportunities for all and are always looking for new ways to make learning engaging and effective. Both schools have positive Ofsted reports (good or better in all areas) in Nov 2024 and Jan 2025. Please read our reports to get a feel for our ethos or look at our Instagram feeds @lowerhalstowsch or @newingtonCEP
