Teaching Assistant (1:1)

KSC + SEN Allowance
Fixed Term – Linked to One Student
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 8:30am–3:20pm, Term Time + 5 INSET (28.5 hrs per week)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a named student with an EHCP. This fixed-term role is linked to the student’s funding and will cease if funding is withdrawn or the student leaves the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support access to the curriculum under teacher direction

  • Provide tailored academic support, including extended writing and typing assistance

  • Assist with personal care and mobility where required

  • Support physiotherapy/OT programmes as directed

  • Promote emotional wellbeing and inclusion

  • Assist with exam access arrangements (reader/scribe)

  • Maintain accurate records of progress and interventions

  • Provide wider TA support if the student is absent

Essential:

  • GCSE English & Maths (Grade 4/C or above)

  • Experience in an educational setting

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and SEND

  • Positive relationship-building skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Desirable:

  • SEND qualification/experience

  • Experience with exam access arrangements
