Advert

We are excited to offer a unique and rewarding opportunity to join the dedicated Bromstone team as our Lead Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) Teacher.

This is not simply a teaching role — it is a leadership position. We are seeking a strong, courageous and highly skilled practitioner who can lead with clarity and compassion. You will oversee our SRP across multiple rooms, lead and develop a committed team of staff, and drive excellence in teaching and learning within the provision. Working closely with our Inclusion Leader and SENCO, as well as the wider Inclusion Team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our SRP is outstanding in every respect.

You must be deeply passionate about supporting children with complex needs and determined to secure the very best outcomes for every child.

About the Role

Our SRP primarily supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Currently, 44 children access the SRP, with 25 spending the majority of their time within the provision, following a highly adapted curriculum. A few children are able to access part of the mainstream classroom, and this is encouraged wherever possible.

We are proud of our experienced SRP team and maintain an approximate 1:3 adult-to-child ratio. A key part of this role is working collaboratively with class teachers to support successful integration into mainstream classrooms wherever possible.

Bromstone is a truly inclusive mainstream school. We currently support 70 pupils with EHCPs across the school — 17% of our population, significantly above the national average. Inclusion is not an add-on at Bromstone; it is at the heart of everything we do.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is an exemplary classroom practitioner and a leader of teaching and learning
  • Can confidently lead, inspire and develop a team (teachers and TAs) across different learning spaces
  • Has strong knowledge of statutory processes for pupils with EHCPs, including provision mapping and annual reviews
  • Is experienced in working with children with complex and additional needs
  • Is knowledgeable about current research and best practice in SEND
  • Has high levels of emotional intelligence and communicates effectively with children, staff, families and external professionals
  • Understands the proposed changes within the Kent SEN system
  • A Master’s in areas such as SEND, Inclusion, Autism, or a willingness to undertake the qualification

As a Thrive school, we expect all staff to uphold and model our Thrive principles. Our inclusive approach means most classes are supported by at least two teaching assistants, and collaboration is central to our success. Bromstone is a place where children — and staff — flourish. Our vision, Dream, Believe, Achieve, underpins all that we do.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate and ambitious leader ready to make a lasting impact.

Visits to the school are essential to truly understand what it means to be part of the Bromstone team. We strongly encourage prospective candidates to contact the school office to arrange a tour and find out more.

If you are ready for a challenging, inspiring and deeply rewarding role, we would love to hear from you.
