Luton Primary School is seeking an energetic, committed, and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our friendly and inclusive team.

About the Role
 
As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will work primarily within our PPA team, delivering high‑quality cover across all year groups. You will also provide cover for leadership time when required.

For the right candidate, there are opportunities to mentor less experienced colleagues and to take a lead role in a curriculum area.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering engaging and well-structured lessons using provided plans
  • Preparing and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Working closely with pupils, teachers, and the leadership team to support excellent learning outcomes

The ideal candidate will be someone who can foster positive behaviour, build self-esteem, and encourage independent learning to support the educational and personal development of our pupils.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
  • HLTA qualification
  • Strong subject knowledge in reading, writing, and maths
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
