We are seeking a Clerk to our Governors to manage the administration of our Governing Body and ensure legal compliance. The role involves providing procedural advice and supporting the overall effectiveness of the Governing Body, including handling minutes, agendas, and records. Additionally, the Clerk will offer independent advice on governance matters, acting as the key figure in ensuring smooth and compliant board operations. This position will support strategic decision-making and ensure that all statutory duties are met.

Key Responsibilities of the Clerk to the Governors

  • Advising on governance procedures, ensuring meetings run smoothly, and taking minutes.
  • Ensuring the board meets all statutory duties and operates within the legal framework.
  • Managing board information, membership records, training records, and agendas.
  • Providing independent advice to help the board with strategic decisions and improve overall governance.

Information about the school

We are very proud of our wonderful school which was judged as good with outstanding features. Our most recent Ofsted inspection was in October 2022.

We have 15 classes including our maintained Nursery. A set of Core Values underpin all that we do which ensure high expectations of both learning and behaviour. They are; Equality, Responsibility, Respect, Resilience and Challenge. Our inclusive school is based on a large, well resourced site just outside Maidstone town centre. Our excellent facilities include a library and extensive outdoor learning areas.
