Shape Culture. Drive Improvement. Lead with Purpose.

New Line Learning Academy is proud to be at the heart of our community. Built on honesty, trust, integrity and hard work, we are a school where students are proud to attend and staff are proud to work.

Our ethos Believe and Achieve underpins everything we do. We are ambitious for every child, unapologetically inclusive, and relentless in our drive to provide an exceptional experience for all.

Following a period of significant strategic development and growth, we are seeking an exceptional leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Assistant Headteacher – Behaviour & Culture.

This is a pivotal leadership role in a school with a clear improvement trajectory and growing student numbers. It offers the opportunity to shape whole-school culture and deliver measurable impact.

About the Role

Working alongside the Deputy Head Teacher you will lead the strategic and operational development of behaviour, culture and student conduct across the academy, ensuring:

  • High expectations are consistently applied across all year groups.
  • Staff continue to develop their understanding that behaviour is a communication of need, particularly for disadvantaged and SEND pupils.
  • Behaviour systems are inclusive, relational and data driven.
  • Suspensions and repeat incidents reduce year on year.
  • Staff feel confident, supported and aligned in approach.
  • Safeguarding culture remains robust and proactive.

Ofsted (May 2025) recognised our calm and orderly environment and positive relationships. The next phase is to accelerate the improvements still needed and further strengthen consistency across systems.

This role is not about maintenance; it is about strategic refinement and measurable improvement.

Our Context

We serve communities within the top 10% most deprived nationally. We do not see this as a barrier; it is our purpose and motivator.

We are committed to:

  • Breaking cycles of socio-economic disadvantage.
  • Ensuring every student is seen, known and supported.
  • Embedding a culture where behaviour supports learning.
  • Creating belonging through consistency and clarity.

We are a growing school, with Year 7 intake rising and long-term projections exceeding 1,000 students on roll. This is an exciting time to join us.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a senior leader who:

  • Has a proven track record of improving behaviour.
  • Understands the link between inclusion, disadvantage and conduct.
  • Can use data intelligently to drive improvement.
  • Builds strong relationships with students, staff and families.
  • Balances high expectations with relational practice.
  • Is aligned with a values-driven, community-centred ethos.

Experience at senior or middle leadership level is essential. NPQSL or equivalent qualifications is desirable but not essential.

Visits & Application

We strongly encourage prospective candidates to visit the school prior to application.

To apply, please complete an application on our online application portal. Your application statement should include:

  • Your impact in behaviour and/or attendance leadership.
  • Evidence of measurable improvement.
