Become a Local Academy Committee Governor for a Veritas MAT School

Veritas MAT Schools are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our Local Academy Committees. Governors support school leadership, monitor performance, and help shape the strategic direction of the school. No education experience is needed—just enthusiasm and a desire to make a difference.  You will be required to attend 4 meetings a year and 2 monitoring visits.  Training and DBS checks are fully supported.

If you believe in our vision of 'irresistible learning for all' and would like to make a positive impact on children and the community, build professional skills and access high-quality training,  please  contact Shelley and Steph at governance.professional@veritasmat.co.uk for further information stating the school that you are interested in becoming a governor for.  Our schools are:

  • Mundella Primary School, Black Bull Road, Folkestone. Kent. CT19 5QX
  • Pilgrims' Way Primary School, Pilgrims' Way, Canterbury. Kent.  CT1 1XU
  • Warden House Primary School, Birdwood Avenue, Deal, Kent.  CT14 9SF

Our next round of LAC meetings take place in Early March and we would welcome you to join us to see if becoming a LAC governor is right for you.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Information about the school

Veritas Multi Academy Trust, formed in 2015, is a small, primary phase Multi Academy Trust. Our schools include Warden House Primary in Deal, Pilgrims' Way Primary in Canterbury and Mundella Primary in Folkestone.

As a small primary Trust, we have a focus on working collaboratively, sharing best practice, expertise, facilities, resources and centralised business functions, to strengthen the outcomes for our children. Wellbeing is the foundation stone upon which our work is based.

Through leadership, governance and curriculum, our values of inclusion, innovation and inspiration are supported in each school and across the Trust as a whole. Our mission of 'irresistible learning for all', encapsulates our relentless focus on the quality of learning BUT also on including ALL, including our pupils, staff, parents/carers and local communities to deliver the best outcomes for our young people.

Our Members, Trustees and Governors are firmly embedded in the community and are determined to see the Trust grow to enable our values and vision to benefit more children, families, and communities.
