Singlewell Primary School is looking to appoint a reliable, proactive Site Manager Assistant/Caretaker to help maintain a clean, safe and secure environment for our children, staff and visitors.

Working closely with the Site Manager, Business Manager and wider team, you will take pride in our premises and grounds - supporting day-to-day site operations, carrying out cleaning and basic maintenance, responding to issues quickly, and helping ensure the school remains a welcoming place to learn and work.

Key Details:

  • Hours: 22.5 hours per week (split shift 7:00–10:30am and 2:00–6:00pm) – Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday
  • Contract: Part-time, Fixed Term
  • Salary: KSA – £24,513 FTE (Actual £15,204 pa)
  • Reporting to: Site Manager and Business Manager


The Person we are looking for:

We are seeking someone who can work flexibly and independently, with good practical skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and a commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding and equality. Experience in caretaking, building maintenance, cleaning, basic DIY and site security systems is desirable, along with knowledge of health and safety practices (e.g., COSHH/manual handling/fire safety).

Information about the school

Number on Roll:- 407 Singlewell School offers a warm, family friendly environment, set in a peaceful location on the outskirts of Gravesend. Since expanding to a two-form entry in September 2016, the school has benefited from a newly built facility and now operates at full capacity, with two classes in each year group from Reception to Year 6. Each class is supported by dedicated Teachers and Teaching Assistants. We are fortunate to have modern, well-equipped facilities and spacious grounds, providing an excellent space for both learning and play.

Our Ofsted inspection recognised that Singlewell is a Good school. Progress and attainment are high across the school and teaching is good. It stated that attendance is high, behaviour is good and children enjoy coming to school. Pupils are eager to learn and work enthusiastically together. There are very positive relationships between pupils and staff.
