We are a community‑focused and Outstanding primary school and nursery in Kings Hill, West Malling and we are seeking a dedicated and proactive Premises Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in creating a safe, well‑maintained, and inspiring environment for children to learn and thrive.

 About the Role:

The Premises Manager will play a key role in the smooth running of the school’s buildings and grounds. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the site is safe, secure, clean, and compliant with all relevant regulations. This is a hands‑on role that requires initiative, reliability, and a strong sense of ownership. Our school is a valued community asset, used by families, local groups, and visitors throughout the year. The Premises Manager will play a vital role in the stewardship of this shared community space, ensuring it remains a safe, welcoming space for everyone in Kings Hill.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the day‑to‑day maintenance, cleanliness, and security of the school site 

- Carry out routine repairs, DIY tasks, and planned maintenance 

- Manage contractors and ensure all work meets required standards 

- Monitor and maintain health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and compliance checks 

- Provide support with the opening and closing of the school premises, ensuring the site is fully secured at the end of each school day. The core working pattern is 10:00–18:00 during term time; however, some flexibility will be required during school holidays to accommodate the needs of the team, planned maintenance, and contractor access

About You:

- Practical, resourceful, and confident with general maintenance tasks 

- Knowledgeable about health and safety requirements (training can be provided) 

- Organised, reliable, and able to work independently as well as effectively line manage site and grounds staff

- Friendly, approachable, and committed to supporting a positive school environment 

- Able to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks 

- Comfortable working in a busy school setting with children, staff, and visitors

We are a very popular primary school in the heart of the Kings Hill community with 420 pupils and 60 children on roll in our Nursery.
