School Business Manager – Stelling Minnis CE Primary School- 3 days a Week 

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive School Business Manager to join our senior leadership team and play a key role in driving the school’s strategic, financial and operational success.

We are a small, friendly school with a supportive team and a staffroom full of laughter! A nurturing environment is important to us and we are fortunate to be surrounded by an impressive outdoor learning environment and of course you will get to know our neighbours comprising of alpacas, pigs, sheep, geese and more; meeting Peppa the Pig is a must!

Despite our remote location, we are conveniently located a short distance from Folkestone, Ashford and Canterbury with ample room for staff parking.

In this pivotal role, you will lead support staff, manage resources, and ensure that all business functions operate efficiently and in line with the school’s vision and improvement priorities. You will oversee the school’s finances, including budget planning, monitoring and reporting, procurement and income generation. You will also manage HR processes, payroll, and support effective staffing structures.

The School Business Manager will work with the Site Manager for key areas of compliance, health and safety, and administrative systems, ensuring the school meets statutory requirements and maintains robust policies, risk management processes and record‑keeping. You will work closely with the headteacher and governing body, contribute to strategic planning, and support high standards of site management and staff wellbeing.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work confidently across finance, HR, operations, and compliance. The postholder must uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute positively to the school community.

Information about the school

We are a small rural primary school, set between the villages of Bossingham and Stelling Minnis, six miles south of Canterbury and 12 miles from Folkestone. Our history dates back to 1784 and we are one of the oldest schools in Kent. We are a Good school (Ofsted) and were judged Outstanding as a Church School (Diocesan Inspection).
We have a strong Christian ethos throughout the school, with a team of friendly and dedicated teachers, support staff and governors. We have delightful, enthusiastic children who are eager to learn.
