About Us

We’re a very small, friendly SEN school where every student - and every staff member - is known, valued, and supported. Our close-knit team works with warmth, humour, and dedication to help each young person reach their potential. With small classes and a highly personalised approach, we create a calm, nurturing environment where students feel understood, confident, and able to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role

We’re looking for an inspiring teacher to join our team, teaching Functional Skills/ELC Maths and Science, and contributing to other subjects such as PSHE. This is a part-time role (3 days a week, ideally Monday to Wednesday), with flexibility for the right candidate and the potential to increase to full-time in the future.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Deliver a creative, engaging, and accessible curriculum tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Teach Functional Skills/ELC Maths and Science in a practical, hands-on way.
  • Contribute to other areas, such as PSHE, depending on your skills and interests.
  • Work closely with a small, supportive team to personalise learning and celebrate every student’s progress.
  • This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a real impact in a small, personal school environment and grow their role in a flexible, supportive setting.

What We Offer

  • A collaborative, welcoming team where your ideas and impact are valued.
  • Small class sizes and a healthy work–life balance.
  • Freedom to teach creatively and personalise lessons.
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth.
  • About You Qualified teacher (QTS) or equivalent experience.
  • Comfortable teaching Functional Skills/ELC Maths and Science, or keen to develop in these areas.
  • Experience of, or genuine interest in, working with young people with additional needs.
  • Creative, reflective, and able to design an inclusive, flexible curriculum.
  • Positive, patient, resilient, and a team player with a sense of humour.

Come and See Us

We warmly encourage visits - you’ll feel the difference as soon as you walk through the door. If you’re looking for a part-time role where you can teach across multiple subjects, support personalised learning, and grow with the school, we’d love to meet you. For the right candidate, there’s the option to increase to full-time in the future.
