Are you ready to SHINE?
Are you passionate about learning, energetic, nurturing and equipped with the skills to support and inspire pupils so they can thrive in all they do?

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at Burham Church of England Primary School. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is motivated, caring and keen to make a positive difference to children’s learning and wellbeing within a supportive, inclusive school community.

The successful candidate will be understanding, patient and adaptable, with excellent literacy and numeracy skills, alongside effective oral and written communication skills. We expect all staff to make a positive contribution to every aspect of school life and to actively support the school’s vision of SHINE, promoting high expectations, respect and a love of learning.

You will be a highly efficient, flexible and reliable individual who can build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents, and who is willing to work across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. A calm, nurturing approach and the ability to motivate and encourage children of varying abilities are essential.

We are looking for an energetic, supportive and positive team player who brings enthusiasm, a sense of humour and excellent interpersonal skills to the role.

As part of the role, you will be expected to:

  • Work with individual pupils and small groups, supporting learning and ensuring pupils remain focused and engaged

  • Deliver SEN interventions in line with individual support plans

  • Provide constructive feedback to pupils to support progress and confidence

  • Lead small groups for specific learning activities

  • Support the class teacher in creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment

Working hours:
8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only (28.75 hours per week).

In return, we offer a welcoming and supportive school environment, opportunities to develop your skills, and the chance to play a vital role in helping our children flourish both academically and personally.

If you are interested, please contact the school for further information.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Information about the school

Burham Church of England Primary School is a small school set in beautiful countryside. We are a distinctive church school based within the Rochester Diocese.

Our vision is for all our children at Burham CEP School to ‘Shine’. We believe that all children should be given opportunities to ‘Shine’ and discover their true unique potential through rich, engaging new experiences that enable them to be successful, happy and independent. We were delighted with our recent SIAMS report (February 2024), which recognised the strengths of the school, referencing how pupils thrive academically within a supportive community. In addition to our SIAMS, we are thrilled with our recent Ofsted inspection grading the school as 'Good' (June 2024.)

At Burham Church of England Primary School we respect, value and include each and everybody. It is our aim to provide children with a safe, happy learning environment in which every member of the school community will thrive. Our aim is for children to build enriching relationships and become responsible, caring and successful citizens.

We are a caring and friendly team who are very supportive of each other. We have high expectations of ourselves as well as the children, as evidenced through our last Ofsted inspection.

We are very close to Bluebell Hill as well as connected to the Peters Village bridge between Wouldham and Halling. The school is within easy reach of both the M2 and M20 motorways and therefore easily accessible from the Medway or Maidstone area.
